The pediatric visit:
The pediatric visit is a preventive medicine consultation dedicated to your puppy or kitten, from the end of weaning until puberty.
Ideally, the first pediatric visit takes place once weaning has been properly completed from the age of 8 weeks. Depending on the age of your pet at their first visit, the veterinarian will determine the number of pediatric visits to be made. In general two to three visits are necessary.

These first visits to the veterinarian are essential in the life of your animal since they allow:
- to check the general state of health of your companion thanks to a complete clinical examination
- to carry out an identification of the animal if you wish (see the article devoted to this subject)
- define a vaccination plan adapted to their age and future lifestyle
- define a preventive treatment plan against internal and external parasites
- discuss the right diet for your growing animal (quality, quantity and distribution of meals)
- to check together the essential points of behavior (biting and/or scratching, socialization, exploration of the environment, etc.)
- to give you advice on education and in particular on the acquisition of cleanliness
- to show you certain hygiene gestures such as cleaning your eyes and ears
- to discuss possible future sterilization
To the Vetosud clinic
we devote 30 minutes per pediatric visit, so it's a privileged moment that will allow you to discuss with your veterinarian and ask him all the questions necessary to welcome your new animal in the best possible conditions.
